Natalie White: The Last Shot
July 21 – August 27
The Last Shot is a solo exhibition of large-format Polaroids by multi-media artist Natalie White. This exhibition features more than eighty 24x20-inch Polaroid photographs capturing the spirit, heart and personalities of the art scene in the Hudson Valley and New York City. These instant portraits of Beaconites as well as members of the Greater New York arts community are at once visceral and soulful, and literally among “the last shots” that will ever be produced, employing a photographic technology that will soon no longer exist, due to the rapidly depleting film stock.
Opening Reception: July 22, 4 - 6 pm

Icons: Portraits by Rafael Fuchs
July 21 – August 27
Icons: Portraits by Rafael Fuchs is a solo exhibition of select works from Fuchs’ vast archive of legends and influential figures from the last 30 years. Ranging from Beyoncé, Derek Jeter, Nathan Lane, Julia Stiles, David Blaine, and Colin Powell, to name some, Fuchs’ portraits weave together a pop-culture narrative that has defined a generation.
Opening Reception: July 22, 4 - 6 pm

Thomas Martinez Pilnik, (Te) Achei (I Found (You))
Live Performance July 22 (+ July 23 if necessary)
Semi-permanent Installation at the KuBe Art Center
Thomas Martinez Pilnik will construct a 400lb terracotta sculpture during a one-day performance for Upstate Art Weekend. Using the iconography of an ashtray, cigarettes, and hands, the piece will leverage scale, materiality, and the passage of time to stand as a semi-permanent installation in the former High School space of the KuBe. As both a monument and performance, (Te) Achei (I Found (You)) nods to smoke filled hallways, forgotten moments, flashes of nostalgia, and finding the right people, places, and things at the right time.

Drawings and Words: Anthony Haden-Guest
July 21 – August 18
Drawings and Words is a solo exhibition of cartoons by renowned artist, writer, and cartoonist Anthony Haden-Guest.

Frank Hyder: The Janis Project
July 21 – August 27
The Janis Project is a striking collection of inflatable sculptures that delve into the realms of identity, and human unity.

Basmat Levin: Colorful Immersions
July 21 – August 27
Colorful Immersions is a solo exhibition of Basmat Levin's vivid paintings installed in a room covered from floor to ceiling in Basmat’s beautiful, vibrant pattern and ornamentation. This installation completely immerses the viewer in the vivacious, color-soaked world of Basmat’s consciousness.

Margaret Innerhofer: Shadowland

July 21 – August 27
Shadowland is a solo exhibition for multi-media artist Margaret Innerhofer. Margaret Innerhofer presents three new series of works in Shadowland titled Sandmen, Heavy Metal, and Deconstr-Activist. Her artworks explore the transitional spaces between spiritual and psychological borderlands.

A Fine Line: Graffiti and the Power of Dissent
May 13 – August 27
Curated by Joseph Ayers and Ethan Cohen, this exhibition showcases artists who use the power of line and gesture in their work to convey messages of subversion. How does the hand guide lines of dissent in contemporary art, and in what ways do artists use their personal language and experience to speak out against conventions and injustice?
A Fine Line: Graffiti and the Power of Dissent, mixes together local Hudson Valley artists, along with acclaimed international artists, who answer these questions from both personal and political perspectives.

Sunil Garg: Light Installation in the Glass House
May 13 – August 27
Sunil Garg is a contemporary artist who both sculpts and paints with light, reflection, movement and shadows. His large scale installations explore intersections between the natural environment, colonialism and consumerism. Viewing is best at sunset.

Beacon Open Studios: Selected Works from the Beacon Arts Community
July 21 – August 27

Changolife Arts: Imperfect Beings
Cuban Art Gallery, On View in Gallery 308
